the LOQUAT lowdown …

loquats are one of the first stone fruits to appear each season. native to china, they’re now grown extensively throughout america, the mediterranean, asia & australia.
with only a brief seasonal window from the end of october to november blink & you could miss them….resembling small golden plums, loquats, along with apples, pears, quinces & cumquats belong to the pome family fruit tree……loquats have a distinct flavour – a tangy fusion of apricot, plum & cherry with a beautifully fragrant scent…. loquat, the restaurant, opened in december 2003.
